The jazz audience outside Philadelphia became aware of Ray Bryant when he recorded for Prestige with Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins. These sidemen appearances were followed by his own trio LP. Although he had by then demonstrated an ability to play the blues (including his own sophisticated "Changes"), this solo album put the spotlight on Ray as a two-fisted pianist who was deep into all kinds of other blues, even gospel. Alone with the Blues flows out to the listener in an unfettered manner; it's blue balm for the soul.

Blues #3, Joy (Blues #2), Lover Man (Oh, Where Can You Be?), Me and the Blues (Blues #1), My Blues (Blues #5), Rockin' Chair, Stocking Feet
