Recorded live August 21, 1979 at the Concord Jazz Festival, this performance of The Dave Brubeck Quartet is infused by the excitement of Brubeck's return to his birthplace. Yet, the title of the album refers not only to his welcomed homecoming, but also a rebirth of earlier creative concepts cultivated by decades of performance and contemporary thought. Complimented by his immensely talented Quartet, this already special evening becomes a breath-taking performance.

With Jerry Bergonzi (tenor saxophone, electric bass on "Two-Part Contention"), Chris Brubeck (electric bass, trombone on "Two-Part Contention"), and Butch Miles (drums).
