When the extraordinary opportunity presented itself to rework the music from such musical giants as Tito Puente, Cal Tjader, Mongo Santamaria, and the other classic Picante artists featured here, it seemed at first an insurmountable task. The mark and influence that each of these artists have had upon all forms of music is immeasurable. The only hope was to pair the right new artist with the right song in an effort to express a unique and fresh interpretation of the classics.
