King, Mellencamp and Burnett are set to make a number of high profile release week appearances including visits to the Late Show with David Letterman (Wed. June 5th), The Colbert Report (Thur. The trio will also discuss their extraordinary collaboration with esteemed national radio programs including NPR's All Things Considered, World Café, and nationally syndicated Acoustic Café. The superb blues ‘n' roots music of Ghost Brothers, produced by musical director T Bone Burnett, reflects the wide range of styles and influences needed for a work that jumps back and forth across decades. It features original music and lyrics by John Mellencamp, plus key dialog excerpts performed by a stellar cast of guest artists including Elvis Costello, Rosanne Cash, Sheryl Crow, Neko Case, Taj Mahal, Ryan Bingham, Dave Alvin, Phil Alvin, Will Dailey and Kris Kristofferson, along with actors Matthew McConaughey, Samantha Mathis and Meg Ryan. This special release also includes the musical's complete libretto, penned by Stephen King. A haunting tale of fraternal love, lust, jealousy and revenge, Ghost Brothers of Darkland County will be released on June 4th, 2013.
The highly successful original production of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, staged by Atlanta's well-regarded Alliance Theatre, premiered in the spring of 2012. A tour of 20 American cities throughout the Midwest and Southeast has been confirmed by AEG beginning October 10TH in Bloomington, IN, and ending November 6TH in Grand Rapids, MI.
