You can't get too much of the great trio of pianist Red Garland, bassist Paul Chambers, and drummer Art Taylor, whose magnificent work is showcased on such other memorable Garland-led OJC reissues as Groovy, A Garland of Red, and All Kinds of Weather. Here the wondrous threesome--who collectively played with giants Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, and Wes Montgomery--visits five timeless standards in their inimitable, graceful, yet always swinging fashion. The easy-paced "This Can't Be Love" is a typical highlight. It sports a stunning, extended bowed solo by Chambers as well as Garland's prancing single-note lines and lilting block chords. Other winners are the blues-drenched title track and "Since I Fell for You," and the perky "Crazy Rhythm." Throughout, Taylor supports with panache.
