Before Curtis Ousley–better known as King Curtis–was murdered at the age of 36 in 1971, he was widely celebrated in R&B circles as a dynamic tenor saxophonist and as musical director of the TV series Soul. This was a foray into jazz with Nat Adderley (billed here as "Little Brother") and Wynton Kelly. Curtis brings his down-home blues sensibility to the material in a most natural manner, and is enhanced by solid performances from Adderley and Kelly.

with "Little Brother" (Nat Adderley), Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, Oliver Jackson
