Pat Martino
In the 1960s Pat Martino was considered a leading young light on the guitar, an intense stylist schooled in the funk of bluesy organ groups and yet having his own very sophisticated harmonic knowledge. His series of LPs for Prestige built his standing to a wide audience. The focal point here is the 12-minute title track but there is also a ballad standard and originals by Coltrane, Golson, and Martino himself.
with Eddie Green, Ben Tucker, Tyrone Brown, Lenny McBrowne
