Say "Texas tenor" and everyone who knows about jazz tenor saxophone brings to mind a spacious sound, loping swing, and a delivery with elements of fundamentalist preaching. In other words, it is impossible to consider the Texas branch of the tenor family without thinking of Arnett Cobb. In this classic album, Cobb is paired with Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, one of the few tenormen capable of matching his ferocious energy. The rhythm section is headed by Cobb's old Houston organ sidekick Strethen Davis and includes on bass and drums George Duvivier and Arthur Edgehill, who also grace a number of Lockjaw's own OJC albums.

with Strethen Davis, George Duvivier, Arthur Edgehill
