His touch, phrasings and harmonies are all part of his now classic-to-our-ears sound. His is a creation that has been a large part of my, and so many other pianists', musical training and inspiration. This is a set of "Bop" standards with compositions by some of Bud's partners: Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk and others. Bud made a deep and lasting mark on the world of jazz piano. He was an inventor of a unique approach to music that helped keep our art form fresh, alive and moving forward.
