On their third album, Alden and Van Eps arrived at the recording session on an equal instrumental footing. Moreover, for the first time on record they completely forego using supporting musicians. "Harmonically, I’m able to move more freely when there isn’t a bass player," George explains. "Howard’s use of the seven-string enables him to include the bottom range; sometimes you can’t tell who’s playing in the low register. It’s a relief for me because now I can go upstairs." As you’ll soon hear their increased freedom enables them to dramatically change roles, resulting in additional lushness and interplay rife with a wide variety of musical motion.
This album was recorded Hollywood, CA, on December 7, 1992.
