There are very few guitarists who have actually invented a genre of guitar playing. Charlie Christian and Chuck Berry are a couple of examples. Another is John Fahey (1939-2001), who invented the concept of the guitarist/composer by taking early blues and country fingerpicking licks and applying them to original solo guitar works built on classical music structures. This CD, which features original and re-recorded cuts from Fahey's groundbreaking 1959 debut LP Blind Joe Death, shows where it all began.
