Young MC

Despite earning a degree in economics, Young MC (born Marvin Young) turned to rap when he met the founders of Delicious Vinyl. After trying his hand at recording his own single, he partnered with Tone-Lōc to create "Wild Thing” and "Funky Cold Medina.” Both songs were massive hits and reinvigorated Young to record his own music, which led to his album 1989 release Stone Cold Rhymin’. The single from that album, "Bust A Move,” earned Young a Grammy for Best Rap Performance. He continues to record and even appeared in the 2009 film Up In the Air.
