Concord Jazz

(Est. 1973) – One of Concord’s premiere labels, Concord Jazz has been releasing critically acclaimed recordings since its inception in 1973.  Named after the city of Concord, a suburb of San Francisco, where local businessman and entrepreneur Carl Jefferson founded both the label and the city’s jazz festival, Concord Jazz quickly became home to such legends as Art Blakey, Ray Brown, Charlie Byrd, Rosemary Clooney, Stan Getz, and Mel Tormé.  Today, the label continues to play an essential role in keeping jazz’s rich artistic traditions alive and vibrant with relevant new recordings in all sub-genres of jazz, proudly representing the works of Chick Corea, Kurt Elling, Dianne Reeves, Curtis Stigers, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Eliane Elias.  Concord Jazz also has a strong focus on the next generation of jazz greats including the likes of Christian Scott, Kris Bowers, and Ben Williams.  Concord Jazz is renowned for its consistency in both musical and sound quality, and has been rated by critics as one of the finest jazz imprints in the world.
