A leader in digital recording technology with the compact disc in the 1980s and SACD in the 1990s, Telarc has crafted several hundred recordings for the Cleveland Orchestra, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and many others. Expanding its scope in the 1980s to include jazz and again in the 1990s to include blues, the label has amassed a catalog of more than 1,300 recordings, and has won more than 50 Grammy Awards in categories spanning every genre in which it specializes.

Since the late 1980s, Telarc International has taken its unparalleled expertise in the digital recording of classical music and applied it to the exploratory and innovative world of jazz. The result has been a catalog of some of the finest jazz recordings of the past two decades, by a roster of artists that includes established legends as well as promising newcomers. Following early successes with Liza Minelli, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck and Ray Brown, Telarc Jazz continues to add new artists to its ever-growing roster, which collectively embraces virtually every aspect of the jazz idiom.

Already a firmly established entity in the recording of classical music and jazz by the early 1990s, Telarc International made its first foray into the blues in 1993 and quickly scored two Grammy nominations for artists Junior Wells and the Muddy Waters Tribute band. In the years since, Telarc Blues has applied its expertise in digital recording to craft high-quality blues CDs by a range of artists representing the various branches of American roots music: Tab Benoit, Otis Taylor, Maria Muldaur, Eric Bibb, Junior Brown, Corey Harris and many others.
