State of Art, released this week, marks Ben Williams' first album as a bandleader and has received quite the buzz. The album took over the top spot on the iTunes Jazz chart - and last night Williams performed to a sold out room at his Harlem Stage record release party in New York City. State of Art draws from jazz, hip-hop, R&B and classical music and includes covers of Michael Jackson's "Little Susie," Stevie Wonder's "Part-Time Lover," Goapele's "Things Don't Exist" and the bold jazz/Hip-Hop meeting, "The Lee Morgan Story" feat. John Robinson & Christian Scott.
