Grammy Nominated Singer-Songwriter James Hunter Auctions Private Concert on eBay

Percentage of Winning Bid to Be Donated To Charity

Acclaimed singer-songwriter James Hunter, who recently released his HEAR Music debut The Hard Way, has put himself up for auction on eBay. "I use eBay mainly for rare 16mm films," says Hunter, but now the British soul man has found another way to use the world's largest online marketplace.

On November 28, Hunter, who Van Morrison calls "one of the best kept secrets in British R'n'B and Soul," will perform a private concert for one lucky winner of his online auction. The concert will take place at the winner's desired location within 100 miles of Chicago or 100 miles of Cleveland. The starting bid is $10,000 and includes one full 75 minute show plus an encore. A percentage of the winning bid will be donated to a charity organization mutually determined by Hunter and the auction winner.

"We are offering our services on eBay because we don't usually get invited to parties, and we decided to invite ourselves," jokes Hunter. The auction ends on November 23, 2008.

The Hard Way debuted at #1 on Billboard's Blues Chart and received critical appraise. Rolling Stone called it "Unbelievably awesome ... a career achievement," and the Boston Globe proclaimed Hunter a "Genuine purveyor of vintage soul."
