Nikka Costa Signs With Stax Records!

New album Pebble To A Pearl to Be Released on September 23, 2008

Los Angeles, CA - Stax Records, a division of Concord Music Group, is pleased to announce the signing of soul songstress Nikka Costa. Produced by Justin Mitchell Stanley (Jamie Lidell, Beck), the critically-acclaimed singer's new album, Pebble to A Pearl, will be released on Stax/Go Funk Yourself Records on September 23, 2008. A collection of soul, blues, funk and pop, Pebble to A Pearl, was recorded over 14 days at Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles

Collin Stanback, Vice President of A&R for Stax Records states, "Nikka embodies all that is Stax." He goes on to say, "Her album is a perfect fit and features the type of music that helps continue the legacy of such an historic and incredible label."

When asked how she felt to be part of Stax Nikka stated, "What can I say? It's the home of soul. I'm excited to be a part of a company that was founded on the roots of the music that I love." She goes on, "Stax kept it real, raw & full of energy making it impossible not to get your get down on!"

Costa broke on to the scene in 2001 with Everybody Got Their Something which critics called a "vivid, vivacious and altogether funky album." Nikka had continued success with the release of 2005's Can'tNeverDidNothin'. During this time she toured with the likes of Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Coldplay and Beck and was nominated for an MTV Music Award.
